Reimagining our Grocery Program with our new Community Store model!
Our Community Store offers groceries twice a month to anyone in need in Central Oregon.
The Community Store is more than just a food pantry; it’s a nurturing space where individuals and families can find dignity and respect.
Our store empowers guests to choose their groceries in a welcoming environment, free from stigma or shame. By fostering a sense of community and compassion, we aim to inspire hope and help individuals see their own worth. Our mission is to provide not just food, but also a renewed sense of possibility for a brighter future.
More than groceries, we provide hope and support to those in need.
Guests can choose from a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, and shelf-stable items. While we aim to provide a nutritious selection, availability may vary due to donations and costs.
We understand that asking for help can be difficult, which is why we believe it is vital that all of our guests feel supported and seen.
Our Community Store is a welcoming environment that prioritizes dignity and respect for our guests.
Our guests have freedom to choose groceries that fit their personal and family needs.
Every guest is treated with compassion, as we seek to eliminate feelings of shame and stigma around food insecurity.

The Giving Plate relies on our community to serve our community. Our largest food donation source is from Bend Food Project, who helps us bring a variety of food to our store shelves through their bi-monthly food collections. They are always looking for people to join them as Neighborhood Coordinators. Learn more HERE. Also, each week, food is purchased and donated from food bank providers such as NeighborImpact and the Oregon Food Bank. Lastly, The Giving Plate purchases fresh produce, protein, eggs, and dairy from local grocers on a weekly basis to ensure that we can offer well-rounded and nutritious groceries to our guests.
