Jingle Christmas 2024 brought holiday magic to hundreds of families in need! With 871 families attending our Jingle Store and a sold-out Santa’s Plate fundraiser, the season was filled with joy, gratitude, and cherished traditions. Ranae Staley on The Giving Plate: Feeding Hope and Fighting Hunger with the Pangea Health Podcast

Debra Kelso, co-founder with husband Gary of The Giving Plate Community Food Relief Outreach in Bend, has written a book about her life, "If These Scars Could Sing.,," a hopeful tale of how she overcame trauma to find her calling.

The food relief organization says it expected about a 10% increase, however that number has reached 40% over the summer - which happens to be the time of year when the Giving Plate shows low donation rates. 

Donations are down 7% for this time of the year, according to executive director, Ranae Staley. 

Project Serious is an annual community-driven initiative where $20,000 worth of services are donated to those in need. The project alternates each year between helping an individual or family in need and supporting a non-profit organization to better serve our community.

The Giving Plate has seen a 40% increase in the number of families requesting food assistance since opening its community store in Bend last spring.

This morning, we had the pleasure of being on KPOV’s The Point with Malcolm McRae, sharing exciting updates about our Community Store, Distribution Center, and the incredible growth we've experienced since opening these new models.

After eleven years of serving the Central Oregon community, on August 17, 2021, The Giving Plate closed on a loan and now owns its very first building!

The 2023 Mad Hatter Ball was a great success! Because of the community’s generous support, we raised a total of $14,903.60!

2023 marked a year of resilience and unwavering support at The Giving Plate as we worked to finish our two construction projects amidst numerous hurdles while experiencing an ever-growing demand for food.

At The Giving Plate, we want to help bring Hope to the Holidays. The Jingle Store is our annual, free community event where kids can come and “shop” for gifts to give to those they love.
