Reflecting on 2024 | A Year of Growth and Gratitude
As we step into 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an incredible year of growth and impact at The Giving Plate. Thanks to your unwavering generosity, encouragement, and support, 2024 was a year filled with milestones and impactful moments.
2024 HIGHLIGHTS
We MOVED! After completing construction on both of our new buildings, we officially opened our doors to the community on April 3rd, marking our 14th birthday, with a fresh start in spaces designed to better serve our neighbors.
Record Growth in Hunger Relief: In 2024, our Grocery Program served 40% more families compared to 2023, averaging over 1,500 families (or 4,700 individuals) each month. November set a record with nearly 6,400 individuals served—a testament to the growing need in our community.
Kid’s Korner Mobile Pantry: By focusing on Prineville, we’re building deeper relationships and now serving around 40 children each weekend, bringing hope and nourishment to this community.
Backpacks for Bend: This program grew by 60% in 2024, providing 750 kids with weekend food bags every week—a vital lifeline when school meals aren’t available.
Kid’s Korner Market: Our new model at the Community Store welcomed 900 children monthly, creating a fun and welcoming space where kids can select food for themselves.
Jingle Events: The holidays were extra magical thanks to Jingle Store, where we served 871 children at no cost to their families, and Santa’s Plate, which welcomed 369 children and their caregivers. One family shared that Jingle Store was “the highlight of their Christmas season!”
Fundraising: Despite facing challenges with waning giving during the year, our community stepped up in December, helping us reach our year-end goals. This incredible outpouring of support ensures that our programs will remain strong in 2025.
